Colleen Sampson was born and raised in South Africa, where she took her initial flight training, culminating with a Private Pilot license. She came to the United States in 1995 and continued her flight training. She now has over 600 hours of flight time and holds a CFII rating as well as a commercial multi-engine rating. Colleen came to the former Knowlton Flight to obtain her multi-engine rating in the Seneca, under the instruction of former chief flight instructor Linda Dowdy. The Anoka tower controllers were quite intrigued by two women flying the Seneca and would almost always inquire "Seneca 55295, is this an unmanned flight?" Professionally Colleen works for CDI, taking MRIs. Her favorite plane is the Pilatus.
