Colleen Sampson

Colleen Sampson was born and raised in South Africa, where she took her initial flight training, culminating with a Private Pilot license. She came to the United States in 1995 and continued her flight training. She now has over 1,400 hours of flight time and holds a CFII rating as well as a commercial multi-engine rating. Colleen says that one of her favorite parts of instructing is seeing the broad grin on a student's face when that first solo is done.

Colleen came to the former Knowlton Flight Instruction Services to obtain her multi-engine rating in the Seneca, under the instruction of chief flight instructor Linda Dowdy. The Anoka tower controllers were quite intrigued by two women flying the Seneca and would almost always inquire "Seneca 55295, is this an unmanned flight?"

Professionally Colleen works for CDI, taking MRIs. Her favorite plane is the Pilatus.
